  • How much time do we have when we book a package or picnic?
    Depending on the location: At our winery partners - 3 hours Public Spaces - 4 hours Private Residences - Drop off/ Set-up day of the event & Pick-up next day or same day
  • What does a chef's picnic lunch entail and how does it work?
    Our chef's picnic lunch is a mix of local and seasonal picnic themed food and small bite items. When ordering a pre-set package with a picnic lunch included, charcuterie boards (either cheese, meat or both), will also be part of the chef's lunch. The price is per guest, so the larger the group, the more food you will receive. How it works: to make it easy for both parties, Picnics by Niks will ask your group for a list of dietary restrictions, allergies and feel free to write a couple of preferences as well.   • How does the balloon arrangement look like when we order one?
    Balloon arrangements vary by occasion and size. Custom requests are welcome. Some are helium based and others are not. Colours and themes will be predetermined via communication once booked. Typically, arrangements are made by a third party source, therefore labour and balloon material is determined in the cost.
  • What if the weather is bad for the day we planned our picnic?
    Not a worry! We provide a few options for rainy days. 1) We can arrange a last minute picnic inside your private home the day of your scheduled event 2) We know Niagara's weather can be unpredictable, so we offer 365 days from your scheduled event date to reschedule your picnic 3) We offer a picnic shelter that will protect you from the rain, if you are on a tour or from out of town and cannot reschedule
  • If I cancel my event last minute, can I use the deposit to reschedule?"
    If you cancel more than 48 hours prior, you can absolutely use your deposit towards your rescheduled event (within 365 days). Incase of cancellation 24 hours or less (not paying your balance 24 hours prior is considered a cancellation too), you will lose your deposit. If the deposit is not used within this time frame (1 year), it will be lost.
  • Can we bring our own food?
    For private homes & public spaces: you can definitely bring your own food. However, we do not provide any boards or decorative items for the food you bring and all garbage/ food scraps are your responsibility to dispose of. We will still provide our cutlery, plates, napkins etc. and we will provide you with a bus bin to place everything dirty in. Winery Partners: Likely, until MAY/JUNE 2023, there will not be a specific winery food partner designated, but once they are, all food orders must be fufilled by our chosen food partner. a] to support our local economy in Niagara-on-the-lake b] to limit the number of allergens being brought on site c] to create a more well-rounded and luxurious experience for you, hassle free. *We also offer our boards and help with the setup of food for a flat fee of $50.00.   • When do we pay for the picnic?
    To book your picnic, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. If you do not pay the deposit, your booking will NOT be considered confirmed. The rest of the balance is due one week prior to your scheduled event. If we do not receive it, we will consider your event cancelled, unless we are notified otherwise.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    After sending you a digital invoice, you can follow the link to our payment system, which accepts most major credit cards and visa debit. E-transfer is also an option and is preffered.
  • Can I book a picnic a day before the event?
    Unfortunately, we need a minimum of 72 hours prior for picnic tours (depending on outsourced availability) and 5 days minimum to book your custom picnic party.
  • Can I keep left over food, balloons and fresh flowers I ordered?"
    Of course! When you order any customized add ons, they are yours to keep and take home. For any food ordered from us, we will provide take-out containers for your left overs.
  • Will there be washrooms on site?
    If you are choosing a picnic at one of our venues, washrooms will be available on site. Any public locations, Picnics by Niks is not responsible for facilities available, but will keep in mind at the time of booking.
